This policy explains what information The Funky Fresh Dance Party & BBQ ("we", "us") collects when you visit funkyfreshbbq.com or funkyfreshdanceparty.com, sign up for the list, enter the dance contest, or buy tickets — and what we do with it. We keep this plain and to the point. Questions? Email us at party@funkyfreshdanceparty.com.
Signups: your name, email, and (if you give it) your city, so we can tell you about events in your area.
Contest entries: your name, email, Instagram/TikTok handle, city, and a link to the video you enter.
Partially filled forms: if you start filling in a form and don't submit it, we may save what you typed so we can tell that the form is working and — if you ask — help you finish. If you submit, the partial copy is cleared.
Ticket orders: your name, email, order amount, and ticket type. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Visitor analytics: when you view pages, we record the approximate city you're visiting from, based on your IP address, along with the page and time. We use this to decide which cities to bring the party to. We don't store your full IP address with the report.
We use your information to run the party: email confirmations, contest notifications and monthly winner announcements, event announcements for your area, ticket delivery (each ticket comes with a QR code by email), and check-in at the door. We also use totals and city counts to plan future events and report to our team.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't rent out the list.
We share data only with the services that run the site:
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our team and attendees.
When you sign up: the occasional event and contest email. When you enter the contest: a confirmation, and possibly a note about your entry or a win. When you buy tickets: your QR tickets and any important event updates. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (tickets, order problems) we'll still send when needed to deliver what you bought.
The site uses browser local storage for things like remembering your session, keeping your spot in the city vote, and saving partially filled forms. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
Your video stays wherever you posted it (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) — we only store the link. If you're a featured monthly pick or winner, we may embed or repost your video on our pages and social accounts with credit. You can ask us to remove a featured entry at any time by emailing us or DMing @djeddief or @timtoksherry.
Signup and contest data is kept while the events and contest run, plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Ticket records are kept as required for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your signup or contest entry at any time.
Unsubscribe from any marketing email using its link. Ask us to delete your data, fix it, or send you a copy by emailing party@funkyfreshdanceparty.com. If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under CCPA — the short version: we don't sell personal information, and you can ask us to delete it.
The contest is open to 18 and over, and the site isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us information, email us and we'll delete it.
If we change this policy in a big way, we'll post the new version here with an updated date, and for major changes we'll notify list members by email.
